Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams born August 20, 1974 in Aviano Italy American actress. Noted for critically acclaimed performances of charming, naive people. Adams grew as the seventh 7-year-old in Castle Rock Colorado. Then, in the latter part of 1990s, she began to act and dance professionally with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. After moving to Minnesota where she was a part of the mock-documentary film Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) about beauty pageants. After her screen debut that was successful where she played an obnoxious but friendly contestant, Janet moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles where she began a professional acting career. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 until September 1962, and was the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. She was discovered by actor Norma Shearer Leigh secured a contract with MGM and started her career in film during the latter half of 1940s. Through the years that followed her appearances in many well-known films like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up by Martin and Lewis (a 1954 film).
