A baby was strapped to my back while one crawled inside the playpen. I spent 12 hours days over months of sanding, and stripping wallpaper and with just one child. Ha! The home was starting to appear nice, however there were a few things left. The project would require money, effort, and my favorite shopping to complete the interior of this house. To keep the budget in check, I began attending estate sales along with my three boys searching for jewels in the rough. The weekly ritual was that we would stroll through garage and estate sales on Fridays and Saturdays and purchase a variety of new and old pieces. I then spent my weekdays painting and sanding out in the driveway. What I saw looked something similar to... this is when my passion to restore furniture started. Even after our house was finished, I didn't want to quit! There was an area in the market that I could sell my pieces. Eventually, I had too lots of pieces to keep in the room available. My house was transformed into a space that I hosted open houses where up 1000 people would be able to view the things on my first floor before purchasing the items. Growing Days was created in the home. As my business flourished as did our family. I was trying to find that perfect balance of having starting a new venture as well as a mother too. Growing Days seemed like the perfect fit. In 2013, my lovely daughter Nora joined our 4th child. My business was going well but I was in need of a break. I decided to slow down to spend time in my home with my children. It was just what I needed. After several minutes. People contacted me asking to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. These people had mostly been to my home during open houses that were held for furniture. In the following time I started taking on clients according to my schedule. In no time, I was managing several accounts and a home remodeling business. If you had predicted that this venture of mine would turn into the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have laughed. Even now, when I look back on this situation, I find myself laughing.
