Katherine Heigl recently spoke out about growing up living in "a white bubble." She also shares the impact that this realization has had on her parenting of adoptees who are multi-racial. In an interview with her, Katherine Heigl said recent interview that, with regards to skin color there is no difference. But after speaking to her sister, who was adopted by South Korea she realized just how differently society treats people of different races. When I asked Meg about how she was treated at public events, whether regardless of whether we were with our parents, the treatment was very completely different. Meg replied "Oh yes! All the time!" Heigl said to Parents, "That made me realise that I was so naive." She said that she was upset and believed it was crucial to put the anger she felt on her adopted daughters. Heigl has a son of 4 years and Josh Kelley, her husband over the last 13 years. In 2009, they welcomed Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter of South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in 2012.
